The planned alterations to a flourishing restaurant and function space within a popular residential area proved a difficult planning process which the practice finally won at appeal. The building, a former public house, was listed Grade II and had little scope to extend. The practice undertook a major layout redesign without compromising the listed fabric and proposed a substantial increase of nearly 40 per cent in the number of covers.
