Planning and Conservation area consents were achieved early in 2008 for the demolition of an existing house and the erection of a new house, with an area of 3,800 square feet, in the Cheyne Conservation Area, SW3. The proposals include the insertion of a basement below the existing rear garden, which is to be landscaped, with a contemporary glazed studio/summer house forming a focal point across the rear boundary wall.
Sensitive negotiations with the Conservation officers were needed also in connection with the removal of a London Plane tree in the adjoining garden.
