The project was for the design of a new house in the Campden Hill Conservation area. Planning Permission and Conservation Area Consent were obtained and the design of the house developed to the completion of the Production Information.
The house was set within a restricted site with no garden. This problem was relieved through the design of a large glazed opening arranged above a double volume space within the living accommodation, which allowed the mature foliage of the adjoining gardens of Campden Hill Square to visually be brought deep into the house.
Externally the palette of materials chosen was intended to complement the existing streetscape of Aubrey Walk, which contains a diverse collection of buildings.
