Ash Grove, Woodland Rise

This hilly backland site was considered to be impossible to develop by local residents and potential developers due to its sensitive context – being surrounded by other houses. Our practice achieved a remarkable consent on this virgin site. Five contemporary houses are sensitively inserted, to provide light and outlook without compromising privacy. The sloping site provided opportunities for digging the houses into the slope, reducing their impact on the surrounding properties.

Three detached and two semi-detached houses with gardens and terraces are served by a private cul-de-sac in a generously landscaped setting.  The contemporary design of the exterior carries through to the details of internal finishes and fittings.
