Royal Crescent, Holland Park

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, W11

At the western end of Holland Park Avenue, Royal Crescent comprises thirty-two grade II* listed buildings.  Many are divided into flats but no.9 is a family house.  Refurbishment and extension works were carried out in four phases over an extended period, allowing the family to remain in the house while work took place floor-by-floor.  A sequence of two planning permissions and three listed building consents were negotiated with Kensington & Chelsea’s planning and conservation officers.

The six-floor house, now with restored period details in the principal ground and first floor rooms, and a magnificent original stone and cast iron main stair, provides living accommodation on three floors, seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.
