Maha Phillips is a founding Partner at Haines Phillips Architects, having previously been an associate at one of HPA’s constituent firms, Andrew Downie and Partners. Maha’s speciality is in central London high-end residential work. Her work in this sector encompasses prime residential projects for developers and private clients on new-build, refurbishments, extensions and internal fit-outs.

Paul Lofthouse

Paul Lofthouse has been at HPA since its inception, and Partner since 2018, having previously worked at one of our constituent practices, Andrews Downie & Partners. Paul has been responsible for a broad range of projects mainly in the residential development sector, for both developer and private clients, and have included refurbishment as well as new build projects as well as challenging mixed use schemes across London and the South-East.

Piers Carlisle

Piers Carlisle has been at HPA since its inception, and Partner since 2018, having previously worked at both constituent practices. Piers has been responsible for overseeing a wide range of residential projects, both new-build and refurbishment, ranging in size from individual homes to much larger developments of 100 plus residential units as well as for our work on a number of major cultural and educational projects.

Michael Phillips

Mike, a founding Partner of HPA and previously Partner at Knight Phillips Architects became a consultant to the practice in the spring of 2024. His work over the years includes projects in diverse sectors, featuring mixed-use developments across London and the south-east, affordable housing projects for housing associations and charitable trusts, and residential projects for both developers and private clients.

Stanley Haines
RIBA BSC (Hons) BArch FHSA
Stanley is now a Consultant to the practice, having previously been senior partner of Haines Phillips since its inception, and formerly Partner at Andrews Downie and Partners for 25 years. Stanley, has been involved with all aspects of housing design throughout his career, in particular larger residential projects including for housing associations, volume house builders, smaller developers and private clients.

Haines Phillips Architects are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Part 2 Architectural Assistant or recently qualified Part 3 Architect to join our small, dynamic office.
The successful candidate will be fully involved on a wide variety of projects and across all work stages from concept design through to completion, including on site experience.
Required skills and experience:
Excellent design, detailing and presentation skills
Ability to work proactively in small teams and with strong communication skills
CAD proficiency (Vectorworks preferred) and proficiency in 3D visuals
Proven experience of all aspects of a project from RIBA Work Stages 1 to 5
Good knowledge of UK planning, building regulations, and production drawings
Minimum 2 years experience post Part 2
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
