Wheathampstead Retirement Homes

Hertfordshire, AL4

King Edward Place is a development for Beechcroft Developments of 24 retirement flats and houses on a site adjacent the River Lea in the market town of Wheathampstead.

The development is arranged in to terraces and courtyards within landscaped gardens along the riverbank, accessed via a series of walkways from the parking and garage areas to the rear. The building groups are set above ground level to protect the properties and allow dry access if the River Lea overflows its banks.

The building details and materials were conceived to blend well with the surrounding character and townscape of Wheathampstead.
