Sensitive alterations to a listed building

This project involved the addition of rear extensions to and the refurbishment of a grade II listed house for a private client.

Our services included a detailed planning and listed building submission to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The closet wing was extended sideways at lower ground, ground and first floor levels, to create a new shower room, cloakroom and study on the respective floors. A new infill conservatory was created at ground floor level extending the kitchen into a useful breakfast room with a balcony over an extended lower ground floor, with access to the garden. The closet wing was also extended upwards, with two additional floors, to provide enhanced bathrooms and dressing room.

Haines Phillips were responsible for the design of the internal fit-out including the bathrooms, joinery and lighting design.
